12 Dec Technology and 5 Star Wedding Films
Many people ask to see more examples of our work other than the two we have on the web site. Well the reason I don’t have more to show is because they’re over 7 years old from when it was 5 Star Wedding Video. Technology has changed so much in that time! For example the standard for online viewing was 320 pixels by 240 pixels because of the speed of internet connection where you were lucky to have DSL at 64Kbps to 128Kbps. (Some of us remember the old dial up noise, yes it’s in your head now) Today my home office gets download speeds of 70Mbps (www.speedtest.net). This dramatic increase in speed allows streaming to be more common, i.e. Netflix, Hulu and YouTube.
I’ll let the videos do the talking. Here’s a video that’s uploaded to my personal YouTube channel because I don’t want brides and grooms to see it:
320 x 240 pixels
and now here’s a sample from about 3 years ago that is located on the 5 Star Wedding Films YouTube page:
1920 x 1080 pixels
You can see there’s a big difference between the two. This is also true with DVD, where the technology is outdated. Blu Ray is next! We like to give our brides a flash drive of their wedding, that way you can back it up and take it on the road with you on either your phone or tablet. Stream it to your TV from across the room when you’re visiting family.
